The Meta Quest 3S is the standalone headset Meta positioned under the Quest 3: the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 class of performance, with Fresnel lenses and a lower price class than the pancake-lens Quest 3. Quest 3S Black Friday Deals 2026 split immediately into storage and bundles. This page is the 128GB headset with Golf+ included, not the 256GB model and not a renewed unit unless the title says so. The game in the title is part of the box. A bare headset without Golf+ is a different listing.

What the 128GB headset includes

The Quest 3S is a wireless headset. It does not need a gaming PC for its own store, and it can also be used as a PC VR headset if you choose that later. Meta’s comparison lists the 128GB model with 8GB of RAM, which Meta describes as a third more memory than Quest 2. The processor is the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2. Meta describes the graphics performance as about twice the Quest 2 platform. That comparison is against the older headset, not against the Quest 3, which uses the same generation of chip.

The displays are LCD panels at 1832 by 1920 pixels per eye. Meta’s optic notes for the 3S list Fresnel lenses, a three-position interpupillary adjustment, about 773 pixels per inch, about 20 pixels per degree, and refresh rates of 72Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz. The field of view is about 96 degrees horizontal and 90 degrees vertical. The Quest 3’s pancake lenses and higher pixel count are the visible difference if you try both. Fresnel lenses can show more glare in high-contrast scenes. They also keep this headset in a simpler, less expensive design. Try the fit if you are sensitive to that look. Do not expect the listing to feel like the Quest 3 because the name shares a digit.

Passthrough is full color. Meta lists a 4-megapixel path at about 18 pixels per degree for the 3S family. Mixed reality on this headset means color video of your room with apps placed in it, not a photographic feed. Controllers are in the standard box, and hand tracking is supported for apps that use it. The stock strap is the soft strap. A harder elite-style strap is a separate accessory. A “comfort bundle” that adds one is a different purchase from the headset alone.

The battery is 4,324 mAh. Meta’s general-use figure for the 3S is about 2.5 hours, with the usual warning that brightness, game type, and age of the battery move the result. Charging is with the included cable. A dock is optional. Plan a break in any longer session instead of expecting a four-hour block.

Storage, accounts, and who it is for

128GB holds the system and a handful of large games. Quest titles are often several gigabytes, and mixed-reality apps add more. If you install everything you try, you will uninstall often. The 256GB Quest 3S is the same headset with more room. It is the better storage choice if you already know you keep many games. It is not a sharper display. Do not pay for 256GB expecting a lens upgrade.

You need a Meta account. Meta’s own guidance rates the headset for accounts 10 and older and tells parents to read the child-safety notes. This is not a toy you hand over without the account controls. Room scale needs a clear space. Seated play needs less. The headset is light relative to older Quests, and the soft strap is the piece people replace first if they play often. Replacing it does not change the panels.

Quest 3S plays the current Quest library, including games that ran on Quest 2 where the developer still supports them, and newer titles built for the XR2 Gen 2 generation. It does not play a PC-only VR library unless you connect it to a PC that can run those games. A Black Friday ad that shows a PC game is advertising a different stack.

Bundles and the Batman problem

Retail titles for the 128GB headset have included time-limited game offers, including Batman: Arkham Shadow on some listings. A game named in today’s title is a promotional extra only while that offer is actually attached. Do not assume a 2024 launch bundle is still in the box in November 2026. Read the current contents. If the game is listed, redeem it on the schedule the listing prints. If it is not listed, you are buying the headset.

Other 128GB listings add a strap, a facial interface, or a gift card. Compare the headset price with the headset price. Add the accessory only if you wanted that accessory. Renewed 128GB units are a third column. Battery wear matters more on a headset you strap to your face for an hour than it does on a gadget that sits on a desk. Read the renewed guarantee.

Quest 3S Black Friday Deals 2026 checklist

  1. Require Quest 3S and 128GB, or the model Q3S128, if this is the storage you chose.
  2. Do not substitute Quest 3, Quest 2, or Quest Pro. The lenses and the generation are different.
  3. Separate the bare headset, the 256GB model, comfort bundles, and renewed units.
  4. Read whether a game is included today. Ignore last year’s bundle memory.
  5. Confirm controllers and the soft strap are in the box you are paying for.
  6. Have a Meta account plan and a play space before the headset arrives.
  7. Compare today’s price with Meta’s current price for the 128GB headset. The offer is that pair of numbers. A percent from a different storage size is not an offer on this one.

The 128GB Quest 3S is the entry to the current standalone line: XR2 Gen 2 performance, Fresnel lenses, color passthrough, and enough storage to start. Move to 256GB if your library will be large. Move to Quest 3 if the pancake lenses are the feature you care about. Black Friday only tells you what that exact box costs today.

Confirm the box says 128GB Quest 3S before you open the controllers.
