PS4 VR Bundle Black Friday Deals 2026

PlayStation VR - Skyrim Bundle [Discontinued]

Check Price on Amazon

The photo and the Check Price on Amazon button use one listing: PlayStation VR – Skyrim Bundle [Discontinued]. The listing title says discontinued. That word is part of the variant. A current bundle with a different name is not the same product. Other configurations discussed below are context, not substitutes for this link.

A PS4 VR bundle is the original PlayStation VR, the headset Sony built for the PlayStation 4. It is not PlayStation VR2. The original headset uses a 5.7-inch OLED panel at 1920 by 1080, up to 120 Hz, and it needs an external processor box between the headset and the console. Tracking on the original system uses the PlayStation Camera. A bundle may include the camera, two PlayStation Move controllers, a DualShock 4, a game, or only the headset and the processor unit. The word “bundle” is doing a lot of work in a Black Friday title. The headset without the processor unit does not function. The processor unit without the cables is a brick. PS VR2, which plugs into a PS5 with a single USB-C cable and uses inside-out tracking, will not run on a PS4, and this original headset will not plug into a PS5 as if it were VR2. They are different products that share two letters.

What has to be in the box

Count parts against a list, not against a lifestyle photo. You need the headset, the processor unit, the power cable for that unit, the HDMI cables the kit expects, and the stereo headphones or the earbuds the kit used, depending on the revision. You need the PlayStation Camera and its adapter if your PS4 is the original “fat” model or the Slim that still uses the separate camera connector. The PS4 Pro uses the camera too. A PS5 does not use this camera for this headset. If your only console is a PS5, this bundle is the wrong headset. Buy PS VR2 or keep a PS4 in the house for this one.

Move controllers are required for some of the best-known PS VR games and useless for others that use the DualShock 4. A bundle that includes Moves is the right bundle if the game you want is a Move game. A bundle that omits them is fine if you already own them or your game uses the gamepad. The game in the box is a disc or a code. Codes expire or have already been redeemed when the seller is careless. Prefer a disc you can see, or a code the seller guarantees unredeemed inside a return window you can still use.

The headset is an OLED from a design that is several years old. Used units can have burned-in images, a cloudy lens, or a cracked headband. The processor unit can fail in dull ways: no HDMI handshake, a light that never goes white, a port that only works if the cable is propped up. These are the reasons a “complete” used bundle is either a bargain or a Saturday of returns. There is no software update that creates missing parts.

The library is the PS4 VR library. Those games are still real, and some of them are still excellent. New VR games are not being built for this headset. If you want a current catalog, you want a different device. If you want a specific PS4 VR title and you already own a PS4, this is the headset that plays it.

PS VR2 confusion is the whole risk

PS VR2 headlines are everywhere in a PlayStation sale. The boxes are different. VR2 is white and black with a halo band and no processor brick. The original is a visor plus a black box you have to hide in the entertainment center. Sense controllers for VR2 do not pair with the original headset. Move controllers do not become Sense controllers. A camera is not part of VR2’s setup. Any listing that mixes those nouns is a listing that does not know what it is selling, which is a reason to leave even if the price looks soft.

Also leave listings that say “PS5 compatible” in a vague way. Sony did not turn the original PSVR into a PS5 headset by a system update. Some people have used workarounds and extra adapters over the years for specific cases. That is not a bundle you should count on for Black Friday delivery, and it is not the same as native support. If the only console in the house is a PS5, stop and shop PS VR2.

Region and power cables matter less than the HDMI path and more than people think. A US bundle should have US power connectors. An import processor unit with the wrong plug is an annoying first hour. The games themselves are often region-free on PlayStation, and a disc from another region can still be the wrong language. Read the game if the game is why you are buying the bundle.

PS4 VR Bundle Black Friday Buying Advice: Black Friday Deals 2026

Write down the parts you need before you compare prices. Headset, processor unit, cables, camera, and either Moves or a DualShock, plus a PS4 you already own. Then compare bundles that have that list. A lower price that omits the camera is a higher price once you hunt a camera that Sony no longer puts in every store.

On arrival, connect the processor unit to the PS4 and to the television exactly as the diagram shows, before you coil any cable away. Power the headset and look at a gray screen for stuck pixels or burn-in. Look through both lenses for a fingerprint on the inside and for a crack. Pair the controllers. Start the game that came with the bundle or a demo. Tracking should hold still if you hold still, in reasonable light, with the camera at the height Sony recommends. A camera aimed at a bright window will fail and the headset is not the failure. Aim it at a plain wall and try again.

If HDMI handshake fails, reseat the cables once. If it still fails, use the return window. These boxes are old enough that a dead processor unit is an ordinary outcome, not a puzzle you are obligated to solve.

This is legacy hardware with a specific library and a specific console. Black Friday is a reasonable time to buy a complete original PSVR bundle if you own a PS4 and you want that library. It is a bad time to buy it because the letters look like PS VR2 and the number looks low. Read the headset generation, count the processor unit, and check the live price of a complete set.
